Intelligent Cold Chain Tracking System

The Intelligent Cold Chain Tracking System developed by Teknopalas ensures the proper temperature maintenance of sensitive products. This system tracks and monitors temperature conditions for food, medicine, blood products, medical supplies, and other perishable goods during transportation and in storage. By instantly monitoring these items, it guarantees that they remain within the required temperature range, preserving their quality and safety.

The system continuously tracks the temperature and sends immediate alerts if any deviation occurs. Users can access and review the data in real-time, addressing any issues promptly to maintain product integrity. It also stores historical temperature data for compliance and audit purposes, adding an extra layer of accountability.

Additionally, the system automates temperature monitoring, reducing the risk of human error, improving supply chain efficiency, and enhancing product safety. As a result, businesses can trust that their sensitive products are always handled with the utmost care.

How Does a Smart Cold Chain Tracking System Work?

To begin, active RFID tags attach to products in cold storage, refrigerated vehicles, or inside product parcels.

These tags, which feature built-in temperature sensors, continuously measure the product temperature at regular intervals. They store the temperature data securely in the tag’s memory, ensuring accurate records.

Gateway devices connect to the internet, enabling communication with the tags and transferring the stored data to the cloud. This setup allows users to monitor the products 24/7 from any location.

The tags come with two distinct warning lights: red and green. By inspecting the warning light at the point of arrival, you can quickly check the status of the cold chain.

If the product temperature falls within the desired range, the tag’s green light turns on, confirming that the cold chain is intact. However, if the temperature exceeds the acceptable range for more than 60 minutes, the red light illuminates, indicating a potential breach in the cold chain. In such cases, a thorough review of the temperature records becomes necessary to assess the situation.

Security

Active RFID labels ensure visibility into whether the cold chain is being maintained. This proactive monitoring prevents the use of spoiled medicines and the consumption of food that has been exposed to unsafe temperatures.

Tracking and Monitoring

The system allows for real-time tracking of products, whether they are stored in cold storage or in transit. By monitoring these conditions instantly, the system enables rapid intervention, helping to prevent any potential damage to the products.

Reporting

The system stores temperature data within the label memory, enabling the generation of detailed reports. These reports include information on the temperatures products were exposed to during transportation, how long they were subjected to undesirable conditions, and the exact date and time of these occurrences. Available in Excel or PDF format, these reports are essential for ensuring the safe transportation and storage of goods.

Easy Accessibility:

You can easily access the system from computers, tablets, or smartphones, providing convenience for all users.

Transparency:

All stakeholders stay informed about the processes, ensuring that everyone involved is on the same page.

Accountability and Liability:

The label records allow you to pinpoint the times and identify the responsible individuals who may cause cold chain disruptions during transportation or storage.

Fast Count:

Due to the harsh working conditions in cold storage, counting products is challenging. However, products are labeled with unique IDs, allowing easy and quick counting from a distance using RFID readers, ensuring the products are ready for shipment. This helps minimize the time employees spend in cold environments.

Features of Active Labels

  • High Precision Temperature Tracking: The label provides accurate temperature monitoring with an accuracy of ±0.1°C, ensuring precise tracking of conditions.

  • Long Lifespan: It operates reliably for over 5 years, offering a long-lasting solution for cold chain monitoring.

  • Flexible Measurement Intervals: You can adjust how frequently the sensor measures temperature, allowing for customizable monitoring intervals.

  • Wide Temperature Range: With an operational range from -5°C to +8°C, the label is suitable for various cold storage applications.

  • Visual Warning Lights: Clear visual indicators, red and green lights, help users quickly assess whether the temperature is within the desired range.

  • Long Battery Life: The label is equipped with a battery that lasts for approximately 6 months, minimizing the need for frequent replacements.

  • Data Security: It securely stores the temperature data, preventing unauthorized alterations or tampering.

  • Shelf Life Warning: When a product reaches its expiration, the label triggers a red warning light, providing a visual alert.

  • Max/Min Temperature Record: The label stores the highest and lowest temperatures recorded throughout the day, offering valuable insights into the conditions of the product.

  • Reporting Features: You can easily export temperature records in Excel or PDF formats, enabling simple data analysis and reporting.

  • Average Kinetic Temperature: The label calculates and provides the average kinetic temperature, offering detailed data on the product’s exposure to varying temperatures over time.

  • Rapid Data Collection: The label collects and stores temperature data quickly, ensuring up-to-date and accurate records are always available.
