Oylum said, “Now we will start to hear the name of Turkish IT companies more in the global arena.”

THE IMPORTANCE OF DOMESTIC AND NATIONAL PRODUCTION HAS BEEN UNDERSTOOD!

Fahrettin Oylum, Deputy Chairman of MÜSİAD Sector Councils Commission, stated that Turkey has evaluated the digital transformation process experienced in recent years in the whole world well, saying, “Thanks to the encouraging steps taken for the private sector, we have started to provide hundreds of products that countries need in the digital transformation process inside. In order to be better, we need to use our products in the global market. At this stage, we have a lot of tasks as sector representatives. We have seen the importance of domestic and national production even more clearly during the pandemic period. The new economy model initiated during this process brought the revival of the manufacturing economy. Our export figures already show this with record highs. However, if we can combine the manufacturing economy with the innovation economy, we will also solve the current account deficit problem.”

The Project Becoming a Product Will Expand the Sector

The conversion of projects into products will accelerate the growth of the sector, Oylum said, emphasizing the importance of producing, consuming domestically and exporting to foreign markets: “If you pay attention to this process, consuming what we produce domestically has a catalytic effect on producers when they go to the global market. We have been trying to keep this topic on the agenda in the IT sector for many years. The transformation of our companies from projects to products, and their emergence in foreign markets with the accumulated knowledge they have gained during this transformation process, will accelerate the growth of the sector.

We will hear more about our global companies.

Fahrettin Oylum stated that we have not yet seen the economic effects of steps taken in research and development and innovation, and made the following suggestions: “If we can transfer the successes we have achieved in the defense industry to civil technologies, and then accelerate the transformation of this power into exports, we can also exponentially increase sectoral growth after the transformation.

There is already an awareness in you and the private sector in this environment, and the support of E-turquality will especially accelerate the opening to the global market of IT companies. The Software Committee under the Exporters Union, created within the Turkey Exporters Assembly (TEA), is the largest committee in terms of member numbers, which shows us how eager the sector players are to enter the global market. In addition, a Digital Technologies Business Council was established within the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK), which is the center of global commercial diplomacy in Turkey. Now we will start to hear more and more of the names of Turkish IT companies in the Global arena.

We will listen to entrepreneurs

Fahrettin Oylum pointed out that MÜSİAD EXPO is the largest mixed fair of the region and companies from all sectors will take place in a large market of 20 thousand square meters. Oylum said, “Imagine a fair where both local and foreign customers and suppliers will talk about business and make agreements under the same roof for four days. We will host both local entrepreneurs and foreign entrepreneurs who want to use Turkey as a hub to take advantage of this opportunity that comes every two years. There will also be a stage in the 8th hall. We will also have the chance to listen to entrepreneurs and investors here. In this area, where the product itself is companies, we will see companies looking for investors on one side and investors looking for entrepreneurs to invest on the other side. We will see that startup shares are not marketed as products in this area, which is the final point of the commodity.
